What an extraordinary year it has been! Congratulations to all the winners, and a special acknowledgement to the Vella family for achieving a remarkable milestone, securing a record prize pool of $32,254.89 – the highest ever awarded in the Western Pigeon Federation. This season was one for the history books, with records being shattered across numerous categories. I’m truly honoured to have achieved eight federation wins and to have clinched both the short and combined distance averages.

A heartfelt congratulations to Matt Ciancio, who triumphed in the prestigious 600-mile event and earned the long-distance averages with an impressive 220 points – a record-breaking achievement in itself! Matt’s dedication and skill shone through with consistent results all season, securing three second-place finishes in the federation.

This year was also a triumph for partnerships, a strategy that has proven incredibly successful in modern racing. Partnerships claimed more federation wins than any other approach, amassing a total of 17 federation victories. This powerful trend may well signal the future of competitive pigeon racing.
