2nd Mildura

In todays’ race from Mildura 30/09/2012, 1104 WPF birds, 395  Geelong birds and app. 800 Greater Melbourne birds were released at 7.45 am.   Conditions at the race point were mainly clear with some cloud cover, with a 10 km/p/h  Southwesterley wind.   Once released,  all birds cleared the race point within three minutes.  For the trip home birds are expected to encounter Southwesterley winds of 15-25 km/p/h with winds turning West/Southwesterly 20-30km/p/h closer to home.  Maximum expected temperature for Victoria today is 15 deg.  Best wishes to all.

1st Mildura

In todays’ race from Mildura 22/09/2012,  1407 WPF birds, 308 Geelong birds and app. 1000 Greater Melbourne birds, were released at 8 am.  All birds cleared the race point within two minutes, leaving in one group.  Conditions at the race point were clear and sunny with a light Easterly wind.  On the way home birds are expected to encounter light East to North/Easterly winds of 10-15 km/h, switching to Northerly winds 20-30 km/h later in the afternoon.  Maximum temperature expected for Melbourne today is 23 degrees.

Mallacoota

In todays’ race from Mallacoota 22/09/2012, 649 WPF birds and 94 Geelong birds were released at 7.30 am.  All birds cleared the race point within two minutes of release.  Conditions at the race point were partly overcast with a 15-20 knot Westerly wind.  On the way home birds are expected to encounter West/Southwesterly winds of 15 to 20 kms p/hr for the majority of the trip home, with winds switching to Northerly closer to home.  Maximum temperature in Melbourne today is expected to be 23 degrees.

3rd Ouyen Liberation

In todays’ race from Ouyen 15/09/2012,    1736  W.P.F. Birds competing from 60 lofts, and 434 Geelong birds, were released at 9am.   Birds left the race point within five minutes in one group.  Conditions at the race point were overcast with a light south/southeasterly wind.  For the rest of the trip home,  conditions will be overcast with light variable winds.  Maximum temperature forcasted for today is 19 degrees.

Remember that clock production is within an hour and a half of clocking.

2nd Ouyen Liberation

In todays’ race from Ouyen 08/09/2012, 1093 W.P.F. birds competing from 47 lofts, and 398 Geelong birds were released at 8.30 am.  Upon release all birds left the race point in one group within three minutes.  At the race point conditions were slightly overcast with a light Westerly wind.  On the way home birds will encounter Westerly winds 20-25 km/h tending Southwesterly 25-35 km/h during the morning.  Top expected daytime temperature for Victoria today is 18 deg.

In todays’ C & J Morris 10 Bird Special race,  556 W.P.F. birds competing from 49 lofts and app. 40 Geelong birds competing in a 3 bird Special Race, were released at 9.30 am.  Conditions at the race point were slightly overcast with a slight Westerly wind. Upon release one group of app.  450 birds left within three minutes, with the remaining app. 150 birds leaving five minutes later.  On the way home birds will encounter 20-25 km/h Westerly winds tending Southwesterly 25-35 km/h during the morning,  Top expected daytime temperature for Victoria is 18 deg.
