The board of management would like to offer their sincere condolences to the Berto family on the passing of John earlier this month.

John joined the Western Pigeon Federation through the Sunshine club for the first ten years of his racing career before joining the Keilor club racking up a total of 25 years of membership approximately.

He loved his pigeons racing dearly over those years and he was always keen to catch up and discuss the various training methods that he adopted. He was always one to share.

The highlight of his career was winning a 600-mile club event in the strong Keilor club in 1990’s.

He was always a quiet loving and humble gentleman devoted to his wife’s family and above all his racing pigeons.

His funeral will be held at Saint Peters church in east Keilor on Tuesday the 28th of March and afterwards at the Keilor cemetery.
