Participants. 57 WPF flyers with 1118 birds, 9 GCHC flyers with 66 birds and 31 VRPU flyers with 380 birds a total of 97 flyers and 1564 birds.
Liberation. Birds released at 7.30am. The birds all left the units in one large group heading for home and were out of sight within 2 minutes.
Winds. There was no wind at the race point on release at ground level.
Birds are expected to encounter northerly winds of b/w 10 – 25km/hr from ground level up to 750 metres. These are expectant to shift north westerly as the birds cross the border arriving closer to home.
Temperature. 13.5 deg
