Property Identification Code registration

Dear Members,

It has recently come to the attention of the VRPB that on 7 February 2024, the Victorian Government gazetted exemptions under the Livestock Disease Control Regulation 2017. These exemptions, while not yet reflected in the authorised versions of the Livestock Disease Control Act 1994 or Livestock Disease Control Regulation 2017 (as amended on 1 October 2024), do encompass individuals who keep more than 50 pigeons, as part of the livestock definition of poultry. 🔗 VRPB Organisational Member Communication

Following a thorough review, the VRPB, at its meeting held on Tuesday 12 August 2025, confirmed that—based on this information—it is recommended that all pigeon fanciers involved in the sport through an affiliated organisation, and who keep 50 or more pigeons, proceed with registration for a 🔗 Property Identification Code (PIC).

This guidance was received and formally accepted at the WPF Board of Management meeting on Tuesday 2 September 2025.

As a result, the WPF now confirms that all members who keep more than 50 pigeons are required to register for a PIC.

Registration can be completed online via the following link:
