Participants. 71 WPF flyers with 1869 birds & 12 GCHC flyers with 169 birds a total of 83 flyers and 2038 birds.
Liberation. Birds were released at 9am into a south westerly wind of approx. 5km/hr. The birds formed one group and were heading for home within 1 minute.
Winds. On the journey home it is anticipated that the birds will encounter westerly winds of 10-20km/hr at ground level, 20-30km westerlies at approx. 100m and 25-35km westerlies at approx. 600m. There is also a chance of winds varying south westerly throughout the day on the journey home.
Temperature. 6 degrees on liberation
