Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, esteemed members of the Western Pigeon Federation, and our honoured guests.

Tonight, we come together to celebrate not just a remarkable individual but a true legend in the history of pigeon racing—a man whose impact on our sport and community cannot be overstated. It is my absolute privilege to stand before you and announce the induction of the one and only Robbie Saggers into the inaugural Hall of Fame of the Western Pigeon Federation.

Robbie Saggers is more than a name; he is a cornerstone of our sport. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Robbie has soared to incredible heights as a competitor, a mentor, a leader, and a passionate advocate for the longevity and growth of pigeon racing. From his humble beginnings racing pigeons alongside his father in the 1960s, Robbie’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

With **over 40 Federation wins**, including multiple overall average titles, Robbie has established himself as one of the greatest competitors our federation has ever seen. His dominance in long-distance racing, his knack for innovation in training  and care methods, and his unparalleled determination have cemented his place in Victorian pigeon racing history. Robbie’s achievements on the racetrack are legendary—but as impressive as they are, they represent only one aspect of his incredible contribution.

Robbie has always understood that true greatness lies not just in individual success but in the legacy you leave behind. Through tireless fundraising efforts, he secured more than **$40,000** for the Yarraville Club, including an astounding **$12,000 raised in a single year**, providing crucial funding for facilities, a federation trailer, and the construction of our federation rooms. These contributions laid the foundation for the success we enjoy today.

Robbie’s vision extended beyond the physical infrastructure of the sport. He recognised the importance of nurturing the next generation, mentoring junior fanciers with the same passion and dedication he brought to the racetrack. Whether it was through organising community tossing events, sharing his wealth of knowledge, or fostering camaraderie within clubs, Robbie has been a beacon of generosity and leadership.

His selflessness and impact on the lives of those around him are perhaps his greatest triumphs. Robbie has not only mentored new fanciers but inspired them to embrace the values of sportsmanship, resilience, and community spirit—values that define the very essence of this Hall of Fame.

As we induct Robbie Saggers into the Western Pigeon Federation Hall of Fame tonight, we honour a man whose name is synonymous with excellence. Robbie’s unwavering dedication, relentless pursuit of growth, and selfless contributions have elevated our sport and inspired countless individuals to aim higher and dream bigger.
