30th Anniversary Melton Classic Race 2025
The Melton Racing Pigeon Club is thrilled to invite all fliers within the WPF, VPO, Ballarat, Colac, and East Boundary VPU to participate in the 30th Anniversary Melton Classic Pigeon Race from Mildura, taking place in 2025!
Eligibility: To be eligible, you must purchase rings or birds at any of the upcoming auctions:
- Rings are priced at $20 each.
- For every 5 rings purchased, you will receive 1 free ring.
- For every 10 rings purchased, you will receive 2 free rings. One (12 ring nominated at purchase) of the free rings can be used to nominate any 2024-bred pigeon on the night of basketing, upon presentation of the ring, ensuring you have a bird to race.
Prize Money – TBA Minimum pool $5,000
All prize money will be split 50% Breeder / 50% Racer. While anyone can purchase birds, the birds must be flown by a flyer from one of the forementioned organizations.
Auction Sales
There will be two sales held by auction:
- Sunday 17th November 2024
- Penning: 10:30 AM – Auction: 12:00 PM
- Address: WPF Rooms 27B Carrington Drive, Albion VIC 3020
- Saturday, 31st January 2025
- Penning: 5:30 PM – Auction: 7:00 PM
- Address: Melton Racing Pigeon Club Rooms, McPherson Park Recreation Reserve, Coburns Road, Melton VIC 3337
Important Sale Information
- Birds presented for sale must be in good health, fully feathered under the wing, and should not have dropped a flight feather.
- All disputes will be handled by the Melton Classic Committee.
Race Details
- Basketing Date: Friday, 29th August 2025
Venue: Melton Racing Pigeon Club Rooms - Race Date: Sunday, 31st August 2025 (weather pending)
Birds will be liberated independently, and the race will be conducted under WPF rules.
