In todays’ race from Morgan 3/11/2012, 814 WPF birds, 137 Geelong birds, 586 VRPU birds and app 400 Greater Melbourne birds, (a total of app 1937 birds) were released at 7.15 am. Conditions at the race point were overcast with light variable East winds.  Upon release birds left the race point after five minutes with app 150 birds returning and remaining at the race point after half an hour.  For the trip home birds are expected to encounter variable Easterley winds.  Maximum temperatures in Victoria today range from 19 – 27 degrees.  Best wishes to all.
