As the birds got closer to home, the winds predominantly shifted to a northwesterly direction, blowing at speeds between 10-15 km/hr. The skies were clearing up, and the temperature at the race point was a cool 7°C.

Liberation Report

What a fantastic turnout! We had a total of 86 flyers participating in the event. Among them, 73 WPF flyers released 2574 birds, and 13 GCHC flyers released 254 birds, making a grand total of 2828 birds taking to the skies at 11:00am. The WPF and GHPC birds were released together, forming one big happy group and clearing the area within two minutes.

A special shoutout to our returning fliers! David Mallia made a triumphant return after a year’s break, taking out the federation win. Michael Portelli also had an impressive comeback, running 2nd after a year at the VHA. Welcome back to these members!

This event was a wonderful display of coordination and precision, ensuring a smooth and successful liberation of the birds. We hope everyone enjoyed the experience as much as we did!
